“I really enjoy this podcast. I like how you incorporate different perspectives from other blended families and professionals.
I wish my wife (bio mom) would commit to listening openly and completely so that she could start understanding what role she plays and what she’s expecting from me.
She said she wanted to single parent and that’s why I found this podcast, what she doesn’t realize is she’s expecting me to help parenting when it works for her but doesn’t want me to parent if it’s getting onto the kids. Feeling like I’m the only one in the house that wants to be active in making the changes to have a happy home again is really frustrating and hard.
We’ve been together for 6yrs and this is my final effort. I’m also seeing a therapist for myself currently but still not seeing any plans or efforts from the Bio mom or the 16yr old daughter that thinks it’s ok to treat and talk to me like I’m a sibling instead of a parent or adult. My wife will watch this happen and only steps in when she doesn’t like how I’m handling it.
