Top notch alternate history fiction
The setting and background for these stories are covered by other reviews. "World War Z set a few years after the American Civil War" is pretty spot on and is a great starting point to get a frame of what you're in for if you start listening to this. I want to leave a review on the overall production quality of the podcast, the voice acting, sound editing, directing and so on. For a while I was of the mind that this was only a 4.5 on that scale, one or two occasional slips of an accent here, or a reuse of a sound byte that was used earlier in the stories or via a different context, then I stopped to realize that I was mentally comparing the New Century crew to a big budget, 'professional' audio drama. Not to imply that these folks are not professional, far from it, but the overall polish of work had me at times thinking it was something released by a big publishing house to push something new to vie for the attention of fantasy along side a Dresden Files or Name of The Wind audio drama. This series is worth your attention, on both a technical and a creative level.

Definitely worth a...Read full review »

It has the best of different genres, from zombies to cowboys to german scientists to Tiger warriors. Great voicework and praise to Mr Shaw for creating this vast and rich universe.

The stories of New Century are as compelling and fun as they are wildly unpredictable. While it refuses to be pinned down by any particular genre of fiction, the writing always maintains its focus on rich characters and tough moral choices. The production quality is great overall. While most of...Read full review »
