Unlike other podcasts, this one FULLY examines life, not partially. I can’t wait to be like Greg when I grow up!

A “good” podcast. Their minds make me want to go to St. John’s College.

My favorite podcast, and by far the best political philosophy commentary available on the internet today. Cannot recommend highly enough.

What a great podcast - such insightful observations into both philosophy and the issues of our time. I enjoy the lively banter of the hosts and the added insights of the show’s occasional guests.

…only to tears. 5/5 stars. Best enjoyed alongside an alcoholic drink or, better yet, some of Willie Nelson’s finest weed. Or cheese from Grampa’s Cheese Barn. Or all of the above. Is Pious pious ‘cause God loves pious? Socrates asks whose bias y’all seek. All for Plato, screech! I’m out here...Read full review »

Be nice to Greg!

Awesome show! Very knowledgable about political philosophy, entertaining, too. They keep asking their listeners to send pics, but I don’t have a girlfriend, let alone a wife. But if I did, I’d send many pics ASAP. You should, too!

Perhaps the best podcast on philosophy out there. Thoughtful, with lots of humor along the way.

This show is too good for the audience. The hosts are too smart and well-dressed. They make me feel inadequate. Please stop it. Tks.

This is not a lecture podcast or a gnostic Straussian conference in the middle of night. Rather, it is a cordial conversation between friends about some worthwhile readings. If you need to feed the springs of your own reading, then give it a listen.
Phocion7 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/04/22
Really good, in-depth discussions of great books. The way you know these guys are real nerds is that every time one of them makes a very mildly funny joke the whole conversation is derailed for a minute by gales of laughter and botched comebacks. 5/5

Great hosts! Always funny and sometimes profound conversations. I highly recommend this podcast to all advertisers. I would definitely buy the products recommended by Alex, Greg and Tempest1610!

Not a serious discussion of philosophy. I recommend BBC’s In Our Time as an alternative.

In the growing part of the world-wide-intrawebs of philosophy podcasts this is one of the best, if not the bestest. I encourage you to listen.

Great episodes. Covers strictly philosophical texts and ideas as well as (my wheelhouse) literary texts. And the hosts balance well between rigor and (also my wheelhouse!) accessibility to the novice.

Fantastic podcast that covers a wide range of readings from political philosophy and literature. Owes much to the formidable path first blazed by Leo Strauss and his disciples.

These fellas know what they're doing! The interviews are engaging, informative, and important. They help preserve the biographies and knowledge of some of the greatest teachers in political philosophy. For my part? I actually prefer when there’s no guest. The shows are funnier, and usually...Read full review »

In the world of the New Thinkery, ketchup, is a vegetable. Embezzlement? Morally acceptable. And Socrates? A criminal... There ya go.
TheSubtlePotato. via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/23/21
The New Thinkery is the latest addition to America’s alt right syndicate. Ostensibly, this group of arm chair philosophers attempt to lead listeners down a path of self-reflection and free-thought. However, there is something much more nefarious going on here. Listeners beware.

This is my favourite podcast. Philosophy plus great banter, very listenable – you feel like you get to know the hosts very quickly. I can’t support but I have subscribed, do rate, and can kiss (end of Love and Death episode). X What’s the theme music? I wish the guys would do other...Read full review »

A great pickmeup of philosophical conversation to make the workweek less of a grind. more than that, discussions of political philosophy as opposed to “political science” are tough to come by these days, and these talks open a door to a lot of texts I would have blown past otherwise. Great job...Read full review »

An interesting selection of works are discussed. The banter and attempts at humor are less than what one should expect from a group of guys who make a podcast about Francis Bacon or William James. Folks on the right in contemporary America are either going to be the funniest or least funny...Read full review »

This podcast is an extremely well done intellectual discourse on political philosophy across the ages. Very engaging for all listeners. It is so kind of Alex and Greg to let David play with them. Also, being a quantum chemist myself, someone who studies the real truths of the cosmos, I find...Read full review »
