Overwhelmingly pleased with itself.
The News Agents (cringe) arrives on the political podcast scene very much in the shadow of the excellent The Rest Is Politics. The News Agents’ (still cringing) cloyingly smug presenting team talk at, rather than to, the listener. As a listening experience it is akin to a room full of espresso-fuelled middle class parents trying to one-up each other at the school fete. The use of nicknames and parts of the script that clearly read [insert ‘banter’ here] are like watching an MP turn up to their annual family beach holiday still wearing trousers and brogues - embarrassing. Much like the Kermode & Mayo film podcast, this is another example of how being ‘unshackled’ from the BBC is not always as great a prospect as it sounds. I’ll stick with Rory and Alastair to get my aural political fix thanks.

I enjoy your podcasts which provide insightful debates on the important topics of the day. However, Can you let interviewees speak, rather than talk over them? I cannot follow their discussion if you interrupt them. Many thanks.
