Sick of the mechanical seques
These people know what they are talking about., critically speaking. And this by this I mean, I critic can tell you what is art, and a reviewer can tell you if something is good to watch. This group of people are most definately critics. I watched a couple of the movies they loved, and used as models for the show, and one mentioned as "MY" next picture show (Battle Royale, and Carol) and they were dreary, to say the least. On top of that, the mechanical nature of there seques is painful to listen to. "Don't you have a topic on this, Scott?" and such. JUST TALK people, stop telegraphing that you have preplanned talking points. This should not be a show of planned essays, it should be about movies, and talking about them. The way it is presented makes it sounds so snooty, I can't stand to listen after a while. And finally, the two-part nature of the show is mind-numbing. Part 1 one day, part 2 a couple days later. It's one thing if they feel they need more time to edit the second one, but it honestly doesn't seem they do much editing. Secondly, they promote the second one with sound clips from it, so it seems to me it's already in the can, but we still need to wait a couple more days. The whole thing is clunky, and not really movie friendly. It's Art Friendly, if you can call art for art's sake friendly at all.Read full review »

The hosts are all well-versed in the field, and yet they regularly find unique perspectives on the films at hand rather than merely echoing each...Read full review »
