"But the past is not through with us!"
I started listening to The Next Picture Show early into its run and found myself liking the format. Once TNPS found its groove in terms of framing the discussion and the chemistry of the regulars was established, the podcast rapidly became one of my favourite podcasts. I love the pairing of new releases and older films, which is more than a gimmick: these podcasts feel like listening in on the best kind of seminar discussions. The tone is always open and amiable but I really appreciate the expert rigour and focus brought to each episode. I must admit, however, that I always miss Genevieve when she's not on the podcast, although I empathise with her squeamishness over horror (hence why I love listening to people talk about horror, because I can't watch it!). Also think the fortnightly releasing each pair of podcasts is a great idea. Keep up the excellent work, guys!Read full review »

The concept of this podcast immediately hooked me; a "movie of the week" style podcast that compared and contrasted classic films with contemporary releases?...Read full review »
