A Pacific Northwest Geology Treasure
Having retired from IT at a community college in Tucson, it wasn’t unusual for this life long learner to look toward geology as an avocation. Finding Nick Zentner’s podcasts just made it more interesting and entertaining. The body of Nick’s online work presents Washington State in a way unlike any other author or presenter. There is an history of Washington that includes the rocks, the geologists, and the singer. I especially like the references to papers that I can look up. I recently took a 4,200 mile, 18 day road trip, with my wife to take a few pictures (of rocks), see a few relatives, a few critters and a lot of rocks designed around Nick’s field trips, YouTube lectures and podcasts with backup by Marli Miller, David Cowan, Michael Eddy, Jamie McDonald, R.W. Tabor, R.A. Haugerud, E.H. Brown and others mentioned in Nick’s works and we were not disappointed.

I’m a mature student in my first year of studying a planetary science degree in London, UK. I found parts of the geology modules a bit dry, but Nick makes it fun and really interesting! From his descriptions I can picture whats going on. Thank you!
