Woof.
I could write an essay about what’s wrong with this first episode but broadly it boils down to the same problems I had with Teachers Pet. It’s structurally a complete mess, hard to follow and poor at telling a story and journalistically it seems to have pretty low ethical standards, it feels very tabloid-y again, much like Teachers Pet. There are assertions made against people that are hyperbolic and frankly a bit embarrassing, I’m not sure how this newspaper is seen in Oz but it feels very much like the sort of schlock a red top in the U.K. would peddle. I certainly won’t be giving it the same rope I gave Teachers Pet, which I finally gave up on when they included an interview with a barely involved neighbour who suggested the twins “must of done it because twins are inherently creepy”. Very silly stuff badly produced. I’d probably use it as an example of how not to make radio on a uni course. Peace!
