One of the best podcasts ever!
I stumbled across the podcast after watching a stand up sketch by Atheer Yacoub with Dean Obeidallah. I loved it so very much that I wanted to know more about her. She and cohost Leila are funny and very engaging with their guests. As a recent immigrant from Africa - I can relate to the stories of Atheer and Leila. I see myself in their parents and the inevitable conflict that arises from raising children in culture other than that of the parents. There's a constant tension between the values of the mother country vis-a-vis the new, adoptive country. It's always a challenge for such parents to know where to draw the line between these two cultures. In a way, I see my daughter and son in the experiences of the hosts and the guests. Always fun and engaging and educational. I've learned a lot and look forward to the new seasonRead full review »

I love listening to the podcast. Growing up black and Muslim in Brooklyn I relate so much to the hosts and guests. I also love finding out about cool/funny black and brown people I haven’t heard of anywhere else!!
