Hi! Hope you are well? As you may have gathered, the podcast feed for The Parish News stopped being updated a while ago. Simply put, I ran out of funds. But, the show continues as a radio show and it is also embedded on my website. From now on, to listen to the parish news you will have to go to [www.backhouse.wtf](http://www.backhouse.wtf) - look in the menu for the series and you will find the show notes and you will have the ability to listen to the weekly show. The podcast was a...

I am going to have to close the podcast part of The Parish News down. It has not been an easy decision. I will still be updating the show at www.backhouse.wtf/tpn and the show will continue, just not as a podcast. Thank you if you have managed to find the show because it was a podcast - I hope you can continue to listen to future episodes from www.backhouse.wtf - thanks for your time.

I am closing down the podcast part of TPN - from now on the best place to catch it is your radio or Backhouse.wtf. I tried to record this show in a different way. But, I completely messed that new method up and I had to start again. As a result, it took twice as long as it should have to record this show; but, I think it is worth it. There is a couple of tracks featuring Arovane and I plunder the catalogue of Machine Records for a track by John Barnes (no, not that one).

Recorded as my wife slept - this is a show focusing on favourite recent tracks, as opposed to anything ground-breaking. In it, I revisit Brethren Of The Free Spirit, Ivor Cutler, Jan St. Werner and Langham Research Centre to name a few.

Recorded in my spare room - this show features quite a few tracks by artists who submitted their music to me directly. Some that struck a chord were York-based Katie-Lou McCabe and also Barry Schrader. Other tracks that were included in the show are from Spill, Moss Covered Technology, Oliver Coates, Richard Scott and Aleksi Perälä.

Episode 312 - There are tracks by Amon Tobin, Alasdair Roberts and Linda Perhac in Episode #312 of The Parish News. I manage to play quite a few new tracks - both unreleased and new-to-me. I finally got around to playing a Coil track on The Parish News; apologies it took 312 episodes.

Episode #311 - due to a series of errors, I made a bad show and had to re-upload it here. I try and cut down on my jibber jabber so there is extra space for the music as we take a trip to the experimental scene in India with Songs For A Tired City having stopped off in Marrakesh for a ceremonial Gnawa track. Other artists include the Copenhagen Clarinet Choir, Moor Mother, Gintas K & Steve Roden - to name a few.

Episode #310 - I think I get away with playing two guilty pleasures in this Episode, but I will let you be the judge. This show also features tracks by Ivor Cutler, Chris Watson, Luc Ferrari, Yann Novak and Oliver Coates, to name a few. There is also escape from the muggy heat of the evening this was recorded when I play a soundscape of Whitby Harbour from 1958.

The Parish News - Episode #308: There are (numerically) not too many tracks on this week's Episode. On Episode #308 I played a track that I paid around $35 to have the cassette posted out to me from America - I do not regret that and stand by my actions. Other tracks featured on this show include electronic tracks by Carl Stone and Anatomist, sound art by Lewis Gilbert and Sun Ra even makes an appearance.

Episode #307 of The Parish News - this was recorded as I was bobbing between my bedroom (where I was recording the show) and the front room where Mrs Backhouse was watching France vs. Germany in the Euro (W) Semi-Finals. It did not do my nerves much good but it was a good game; this show has its fair amount of mangled pronunciation. I reckon you need to check my site for the correct way to say a few tracks and artists. Thanks for listening!

The Parish News #306 - Quite a few listener submissions to this show, Episode #306. Plus, I get to play my favourite John Betjeman poems, as read by the poet himself. The show ends with a bit of a cheat; I bought a one-track album that is over an hour long. I would not play the entire album and take the spoils from the artists, but I manage to fill half an hour of broadcast with the track. I admit I was confused by new tech this episode, so the links are a bit second rate; but, I hope to pick...

Episode #305 of The Parish News - This week The Parish News plays quite a few more short-form tracks than normal, with the longest only being around the sixteen-minute mark. This is a radical departure but one I welcome. Featured tracks include a great piece of extended singing courtesy of Georgina Brett and a track made by a tree - to name a few.
