The Voice and the ABC’s editorial policy ok impartiality
Guys, I love the podcast and have been subscribed for years. I have been very disappointed at the ABCs, and by extension your podcast, reporting on the Voice. It has been obviously one-sided, skewed to ‘yes’ and really has not served the Australian public well. PK, as perhaps the most obvious offender, has made her personal view the ABC view, with the ‘no’ camp members being variously patronised, insulted and aligned with base ignorance. The inflammatory and angry rants by Noel Pearson, Marcia Langton and Ray Martin (to name a few) were conveniently ignored by the pod, only being held to account by Free to Air morning show hosts! By way or a reminder, some extracts from the ABC’s own policy on impartiality in reporting; 4.1 Gather and present news and information with due impartiality. 4.2 Present a diversity of perspectives so that, over time, no significant strand of thought or belief within the community is knowingly excluded or disproportionately represented. 4.3 Do not state or imply that any perspective is the editorial opinion of the ABC. The ABC takes no editorial stance other than its commitment to fundamental democratic principles including the rule of law, freedom of speech and religion, parliamentary democracy and equality of opportunity. 4.4 Do not misrepresent any perspective. 4.5 Do not unduly favour one perspective over another.

Great podcast love getting the weekly wrap up (it's my only election news fix at this stage). Great choice of guests and love your light finish Fran with a song.Read full review »

The party room is a brilliant blend of considered political commentary, banter and a bit of fun.
