Compelling stuff!
I’ve only just started on season 2 so this review is less than comprehensive, but from what I’ve heard so far this series cooks up a wonderfully evocative and incredibly bleak world of Hyperion City, Mars. The hotel lobby concierge intro draws me in every time and the story that’s woven leaves me wanting to know more about the characters. Juno Steel’s a compelling protagonist to follow as he takes on the twists and turns of each case, as we get more and more glimpses into what’s made him the person we find him as in season 1 and what he’s going to do about it. He’s also incredibly Gender, as are many others. For all the cynicism, brooding and quick thinking in one crisis to the next you get some wonderfully less-than-smooth moments with Mista Steel. Goes without saying Rita’s an absolute delight too and I look forward to hearing more of Rex’s antics. So so very hyped for when Buddy and Vespa show up, heard so much stuff about them on the grapevine that makes me sure they’ll end up firm favourites.

Extremely good podcast in every aspect. Just got hooked this week. Very busy, but do not even care that it is taking over my life. Fantastic writing and storytelling, inescapably interesting characters. Highly recommend.

These stories are diverse in a way that's super engaging and never feels forced or contrived. It's always a pleasure to listen

Personally I never cared much for detective stories before this podcast, but the alien setting kept me tuned in, and then when the banter between Juno Steel...Read full review »
