Queerer Than a $2 Bill And Just As Rare
With an astounding cast, music and sound effects, The Penumbra Hotel is a technically brilliant podcast, to say nothing of the story itself. Personally I never cared much for detective stories before this podcast, but the alien setting kept me tuned in, and then when the banter between Juno Steel and Rex Glass became flirtatious, I suddenly found myself desperate to know what new poison our beloved Steel would find himself attracted to with each episode. Then I realized that just about EVERY episode in this show includes queer or otherwise marginalized characters. It may have been the queerness that brought this ace listener to the show, but it's a desperate need to know what'll happen next in the Penumbra Hotel that keeps me coming back.Read full review »
