Hello and welcome to Episode 198 of the People Powered Business Podcast! Today it felt like a good time to talk about rest! We’re at the time of year where many people are trying to catchup on a little rest after a busy and even overwhelming few years for many business owners. In today’s episode we unpack The 7 types of rest identified by Dr Saundra Dalton-Smith, a Physician, work-life integration researcher and author based in Alabama who was seeing first had in her own experience and via her patients that a solid 8 hours sleep per night was not the solution to not feeling tired, so she went searching for answers and identified that there are in fact 7 different types of rest, with the physical ‘sleep’ type of rest being just one. We discuss today why the different types of rest might be needed and some of the warning signs we might see in our team members who are in need of a particular type of rest. Most importantly I share some tips on how we can we better approach rest as entrepreneurs and business owners.
