He’s countersuing for emotional distress. The plaintiffs say they signed a one-year lease with the defendant, but she was a nightmare landlord. They had no hot water in winter and had to move out. Now she won’t return their security deposit, so they’re suing. The defendant says the plaintiffs left her high and dry, and she had to have everything deep cleaned because they were smokers.
