An Ally of Common Sense
Dr. Attia’s is performing an enormous service to public health with his COVID-19 series podcasts. In his interview with Paul Conti, Dr. Attia reflects that it will take more than conversation to create the changes we need to recover from this crisis and be better prepared for the next one. I took the remark to be subtlety self-deprecating. Dr. Attia, you are helping to set the stage for that change by providing the public with a source of data driven, non-partisan information grounded in fact and reason. Please continue to focus on helping us understand the nature of this virus and providing us with the steps we can all take to contribute to a solution. The human mind is tortured by uncertainty. But with clear expectations and practical plans, we can adjust to great adversity. Dr. Attia touches on a delicate point in his podcast with Dr. Conti. Some of the largest obstacles we are confronting in this crisis are psychological, not biological. Truth has an absolute value, but is powerless to closed minds. What we focus on and what words we choose to describe reality are extremely powerful in making people receptive to truth. We must be careful to direct our attention to solutions that unite, not divide. Dr. Attia’s sensitivity, patience, humility, and goodwill make him a perfect role model for preparing the way for truth. I feel very fortunate to have access to his guidance at this time, and am recommending his podcast to all those who hunger for truth. You are a true ally in the “Allegiance of Common Sense.” Thank you.
