Description
Antya Waegemann, founder of Margo*, and winner of Fast Company’s 2020 World Changing Ideas award, discusses sexual assault and how she redesigned the current rape kit to improve the lives of rape survivors and medical workers.   Today I’m speaking to Antya Waegemann. Antya is the founder of Margo, a company that is redesigning the current rape kit and simplifying the process of gathering forensic evidence in sexual assault cases. The kit won Fast Company’s 2020 World Changing Ideas award. With a background in design, a Masters in Design from the School of Visual Arts, and a Masters in Liberal Arts from Harvard University, focusing on Corporate Sustainability and Innovation, Antya is determined to dramatically  improve the experience of rape survivors and of the medical workers who perform the tests.  Support Margo by donating via https://www.margokit.com.  *A few months after recording this episode, Antya renamed her company "Margo." Both parties still refer to Margo by its previous name, "Redesign the Kit," throughout this episode.
