Seductive but Dangerous
Is Jeff getting bored? Or is he on to something? Who knows? We'll find out. The idea of the "Portfolio Life" seems to be seductive--"Go ahead, be flexible in an unpredictable age. You've got lots of interests and talents. Pursue them. You can have it all. Blah blah blah." Of course, some of this advice may make sense, properly metered. Like all good things, a dynamic tension exists between narrow myopia and scattered dilettantism. All of us are more than 'one thing' yet we risk dissipating our scarce energies and focus if we try to do too much. Jeff, tell me you'll stick with some timeless fundamentals such as purpose, vocation, and calling in your new context of the "Portfolio Life." Please assure us that focus, hard work against priorities, and the pursuit of mastery still matter. Or else I'm selling my portfolio.Read full review »

Writers write and share their hearts, and so it is with Jeff. His podcast is a reflection of how he presents himself in his successful books. An expert makes his skill look easy to an observer. I believe that his podcast will show us the work that is nessessary in creating such prose. Thanks Jeff.
