I listened to the Handmaid’s Tale episode. It was a lot of political opinions and very little about the actual book or story. The one podcaster seems very angry and I don’t know what’s going on in her life but I hope it gets better.

Way too many of the opinions start with “I haven’t watched this tv/show/movie but here’s why it’s a problem.” Good investigation starts with primary sources. Don’t do shows on folklore or pop culture if you’re not willing to fact check yourself... it undermines your message.

I'm a recent listener to this podcast, but it's absolutely brilliant. Misty & Allegra are both genuine professors and bring warmth, wit and intelligence to every episode. I especially love the Game of Thrones episode, which not only details the women of Westeros, but also talks about...Read full review »

I got so sucked into the discussion, I didn't realize a hour had passed. And just like that, I was smarter and entertained. Thank you Misty and Allegra for this fun, but also necessary podcast.Read full review »

I wish I was drinking tea and discussing Little Women and pop culture and ranting with these bright academics about the BS negative connotations associated with the word "feminism." Misty and Allegra have a natural rapport. Tune in for the smart, well-researched, nuanced, and accessible...Read full review »

I’ve just finished listening to the 80s ladies at work episode and took so much away from it. The episode was really well researched and both Allegra and Misty are a joy to listen to. Feeling very inspired and educated after listening to the podcast and can not wait to binge on further episodes!...Read full review »

The Profess-Hers Podcast provides an engaging and insightful female perspective in pop culture, such as examining tropes. It’s the type of show that is much needed these days, and it’s well executed. Give this a sub and listen!

This podcast is so well researched and the hosts are delightful! I love how they weave history into analyzing tv shows/movies/etc. The hosts had me hooked after listening to only one episode! I can’t wait to listen to more episodes and share the show with my friends.

I’ve really been enjoying Profess-Hers. The hosts have a great rapport and as someone who’s usually a few years behind pop culture, it’s very nice to hear someone else say, “I am aware that that thing [tv show, movie, etc] exists” in lieu of saying “Nope, haven’t seen it.” It’s a smart feminist...Read full review »

Being a dude, I loved listening to these ladies give perspective on women in TV, history, and more. I started on Ep 4 and got hooked - more episodes please! PS, I also strive to be Leslie Knope :)

These ladies discuss how pop culture and other things relate to women and women's movements. Their rapport is fun, but they are experts on their subjects and it's clear they know what they're talking about. It's my new favorite! It's super smart without ever being over...Read full review »

Profess-hers is so well done! Misty and Allegra bring such a wonderfully nuanced feminist perspective to history, pop culture, and basically every single thing women have ever been involved in. Absolutely love listening to it (and occasionally getting worked up about injustice).
