Promoting self-reflection
The Professor Is In podcasts were a breath of fresh air given this year we’ve had. Having my tenure application denied was huge professional blow and prompted some deep reflection on my relationship with academia. Feeling betrayed by my department and the whole enterprise - Karen and Kel are like the mentors I never had - telling me the dark truths about the system I dived head first into without a map to guide me. Hopefully, with this second go around on TT, I’ll do it with more insight and awareness of my self worth and value in the academy and beyond.
