Exactly what I need
Whether you are trying to get an academic gig, survive academia once you’re in, or leave to preserve your sanity, “The Professor is In” is the podcast for you. I first found Kel and Karen five or six years ago as a grad student. I used Karen’s book to write my successful proposal to get a postdoctoral fellowship. I joined Karen’s webinar on interviewing on campus before my first job application and enrolled in one of Kel’s first versions of the class online “Unstuck: The Art of Productivity,” which helped me think through academic work of multiple kinds. Now, as an accidental academic, I live by their weekly podcasts. Kel and Karen draw on their own experiences, their work with clients, and ongoing evolutions in academia and its political contexts to guide listeners through the river of life. What I love most about Kel and Karin is their candor and kindness, how deeply they listen to others and reflect on their own practices together. Such a pleasure. Can’t recommend their podcast—and all other products—highly enough. —Jen Henderson
