Uyen Luu was 5 years old when she came to London in the early 80s with her mother and brother as refugees from post war Vietnam. After graduating, she was awarded a grant from The Arts Council Of England to make a 16mm documentary film about going home, Phở - (Noodle Soup). She then became known for hosting home-cooked Vietnamese on Fridays and Saturdays. Uyen has hosted the supper clubs and Vietnamese cooking classes at her photography studio in Hackney.
