Description
In the studio this week Alan Biggs was joined by former Premier League referees Roger Dilkes and FIFA listed Mark Halsey to round up the weekend action in the Premier League, Football League and the two FA Cup Semi-Finals. Saturday saw Manchester United overcome a one goal deficit to defeat Tottenham 2-1 in the first FA Cup semi-final of the weekend, in which there were no incidents of concern for Anthony Taylor. But on Sunday there was much discussion surrounding Chelsea's win over Southampton with the Saints being denied an equaliser when Charlie Austin attempted to bundle the ball over the line only for referee Martin Atkinson to award a foul after the striker made contact with Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero. In the Premier League there were penalty decisions at Vicarage Road which the panel clear up whilst at The Hawthorns West Brom came back from 2-0 down to grab a point against Liverpool, but were the Baggies lucky to not give away a penalty and should Ahmed Hegazi have been sent off? Meanwhile in the Football League there was plenty to talk about including Peter Bankes who was confronted by a supporter who charged towards the official after a first-half penalty was awarded to hosts Rochdale.
