Description
In the studio this week Alan Biggs was joined by former Premier League and FIFA referee Mark Halsey and ex West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson to round up the weekend action in the Premier League and Football League. Manchester City were confirmed as champions when bottom of the league West Brom beat 2nd placed Man United 1-0, but Jose Mourinho's side might well feel aggrieved their rivals celebrations were not put on hold til next week after Ander Herrera was fouled in the area by Craig Dawson but referee Paul Tierney waved play on. The newly crowned champions were in action the previous evening and defeated Tottenham at Wembley but there were two decisions up for debate involving Man City's second goal, and a challenge by Ben Davies on Vincent Kompany. Elsewhere Chelsea's Marcus Alonso may well find himself in trouble after an unpunished stamp as his side beat relegation strugglers Southampton and the panel also reflect back on Gianluigi Buffon's comments midweek surrounding Michael Oliver and Juventus' exit from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid.
