Episodes
We're back with a mini Fall Outbreak. It has been a while so Travis and Dan made George watch two black and white vampire classics for the spooky season. The episode was darn near two hours long so here is Part 1.  And a word of warning... this one goes to dark places by the end.  Hope you missed us as much as we missed you!

The Alienation of George continues (see what we did there?) with 2022's Nope. A movie best seen rather than described. So make sure you see it prior to listening to this episode. Contained within this episode is a perfect example of the Travis Arc. Yes, George will learn and come to better understand the movie he just watched. But so will Travis. Sometimes, things just fall right into place. Oh and Dan is here too! Here is the Vox article referenced in the...

Things got a little... alien... in the last episode so they guys continued that momentum with Close Encounters of the Third Kind. And like an episode written by SNL's Weekend Update contribute Stefon, this episode has everything: Aliens, mashed potatoes, the mom from A Christmas Story, the Insane Clown Posse.  Join us to hear George love a movie, stick with us to hear Travis bring back the Arnold impression, and wrap it up with a tease for next week that is as brief as it is compelling. And...

Twitch personality Mini_Megz is back to show all three guys a new movie we missed along the way: Waiting for Guffman. It is like Spinal Tap but about community theater. In Missouri. And the guys are here for it! And there are aliens. So many aliens. And it only gets weirder from there. Guys... this is probably the funniest (and funnest) episode yet! And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit Discussion group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/remedialfilmpod Did you know we...

George enjoys a good Bill Murray movie, when he recognizes him anyway. And we just showed him National Lampoon's Vacation, which was directed by Stripes co-star Harold Ramis. And John Candy is here. What could go wrong? Will George remember the Anthony Michael Hall cameo? Did Travis enjoy the final act of Stripes more than he did 25 years ago? Did Dan just convince the guys to watch Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia? And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit Discussion group on...

After a rousing discussion of interstate... in-transit... copulation...? during the Christine episode it was necessary that George see Parenthood. But instead the guys watched Vacation and no regrets were had. George is familiar with Christmas Vacation, so to see the original in its early 80s R-Rated incarnation was not a very difficult leap. But was he ready for Ellen Griswold and Cousin Eddie in their more... raw form? How many Russ's and Clarks's will Travis tally by the end of the...

Christine. Catherine. Whatever it is called (George still isn't sure) Dan and Travis were happy to follow Carrie with more Stephen King... but this time through the lens of John Carpenter. George loves John Carpenter, so this is a lock. Right? Join us to hear Travis relive his childhood (and George's by proxy). Stick around for Dan's horrifying idea for a reboot of the Christine franchise (Copyright RFCP!) And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit Discussion group on...

George knows a thing or two about Carrie, but he was not ready for revelatory experience of watching the movie in full. How could he have prepared himself to gaze into the black mirror so specifically? And there's a bunch of Friday the 13th stuff in here? And some Halloween? Even some Robocop? Awesome. Dead or alive, you're coming with us to discuss the bombastic Stephen King cross Brian DePalma classic that put both squarely into the mainstream box office and consciousness.  And after the...

George is finally ready to Take... A look... at one of the most aesthetically influential movies of the 1980s...  Dan and Travis are ready to show George why this movie led to so many college dorm room posters and gangsta rap references while also inspiring Scott Hall to become Razor Ramon and the developers of the GTA games to accumulate all the money Tony Montana could ever dream of... Oh, and Dan gets giallo nerdy, but just for a minute... And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit...

It is Friday the 13th! And what better way to celebrate than with a new scoop on a 43 year old movie and an open invitation for Sean Cunningham to contact the guys? Dan finally watched the 4k version of Friday the 13th and noticed a very curious detail. And we couldn't find this information elsewhere so sit back and enjoy 11 minutes of Friday heaven. And don't worry, Scarface is coming next week as scheduled! And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit Discussion group on...

Spoiler Alert: Dan and Travis were laughing so hard by the end of this episode that Dan nearly puked. You had to be there (but you will be there if you listen... so listen?) 2023 continues with one last dose of Burton... the iconic Edward Scissorhands (which Dan has never seen either). Stick around to hear Travis's impression of The Fly and Dan fall down a dag-gum well. Why do we fall, George? To make George see the movies he missed! And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit...

We begin Season 4 by tying together many loose ends and giving George a New Year's present: Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. George had better enjoy this movie! George had no context for Pee-wee's Big Adventure. Sure he's seen a few Tim Burton movies. The Danny Elfman score might sound a bit familiar. But nothing could prepare George for the most epic bicycle recovery quest ever put to film. Twice. Will Travis manage to beat the "under" for Pee-wee impressions? Will George make heads or tails of anything that happens on the screen during this movie? Will Dan manage to make Travis snort again? And after the episode, check out the Extra Credit...

The discussion of Batman Returns ran so long we had to break it into two separate episodes. And what a doozy Part 2 turned out to be! Danny Devito, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sean Young and Marlon Brando are all here and George is feeling it. And Dan. Dan has a revelation on-air for you all to hear. Now, it is a revelation about Batman (1989) but still, a win is a win, guys. Dan will be appearing as the guest of The Hysteria Continues podcast to discuss Elves (1989) with the panel of slasher fans...

George has seen Batman (1989.)  He's seen, and discussed at length, the Nolan Trilogy. Heck, he's even seen these same supporting characters in The Batman. But George was not ready for Danny Devito and Michelle Pfeiffer.  We get deep into the sewers and Bat lore, explore the connections between Batman 1966, Batman Returns and the Nolan Trilogy. And there's jokes and stuff. But how could we make this movie into a Happy Meal? Dan will be appearing as the guest of The Hysteria Continues podcast...

Dan is the first-time viewer this week as the guys show him Gremlins. And Dan has only one question: Who is the target audience of this movie!? Now, to be fair, George hadn't seen this film in a long time so it was essentially a first watch for him as well. Travis brought his A-Game to support this 80's classic. Furbies, A Christmas Story and Back to the Future all make cameo appearances as we ring in the holiday season with puppets and fire. What a wild movie! But will Dan prefer this Steven...

Richard Oliver (of the Chasing Tone Podcast) is back and George just finished his 4th Eddie Murphy movie of the show. Was this a pitch-perfect comedy for George or did it fall flat like that part in Trading Places that Dan hates? This one is all over the place, with deviations to discussions of Kimba the White Lion, Slumdog Millionaire and Animal House. It was a great time. Will Richard quit the show when he figures out that we are not watching Coming 2 America? Did George catch the Trading...

Before "Straw Dogs," "Last House on the Left" and "I Spit on Your Grave" it was Whirlpool that ushered in the new decade of the 1970s... George and Travis had never heard of Whirlpool (aside from all the times Dan brought it up over the last 3 years!) and were NOT PREPARED FOR WHAT THEY WERE GETTING INTO. And it led to what may be our most ridiculous episode of the year! Seriously. This is one that is underseen so we stay spoiler-free while we make the pitch for you, yes you, to go check it...

Thanksgiving is here and the boys are watching Steve Martin try to escape John Candy on his way from New York to Chicago, by way of Wichita Kansas. And the adventure goes right through Dan's backyard! (Finally a movie that isn't in Philadelphia!) Will George manage to set aside his tragedy bias and enjoy a heartwarming film? Will Travis set a new all-time curse record for the show? Will Dan ever fully self-diagnose his emotion deficiency? Hopefully this all resolves in time for Turkey! And...

George and Travis are new to this movie, and Dan forewarned them (perhaps to their own detriment) that they were in for more David Cronenberg. But this isn't your Daddy's Cronenberg of The Fly or Scanners. Instead the guys were faced with a serious and ambiguous tale vacillating between gaslighting and a potential double life. But, spoiler alert: They liked it. Will Travis ever be satisfied with ambiguity? Will George manage to say anything nice about the movie before slipping into criticism?...

Dan and Travis have been threatening to show this movie to George for years. They never mentioned that it was Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct) but you have to assume George had lofty expectations (or a paralyzing sense of confusion) when he read the "directed by" credits. Let's settle with you guys. This movie stinks. But the real discussion begins with the "Why!?" What happened to this movie? Why is it the way it is? We get into it. And then we quote it a bunch. And...

George wasn't ready. Travis wasn't ready. Sleepaway Camp is something no one can really be prepared for. Luckily Aaron (friend of the show and author of the spectacular Primal Fear legal breakdown on our Facebook Group) is a Sleepaway Camp Super-Fan to help Dan shepherd the guys through what might be the most challenging content in a movie thus far. Plus the conversation literally makes Travis snort at some point. How will George handle the concept of a "Bad movie" being super fun. Is he...

What began as a fun "extra" planned for the Halloween 1978 revisiting has broken loose into its own Halloween Special. Can Travis or George name a movie that is a better watch than Halloween 78?  Will Travis and George really try to bring the Wendy Theory into this again? Will they be the same after hearing the (made up off-the-cuff-by-Dan) "Loomis Theory" for Halloween 78? Will any of us leave this episode unchanged? Mini_Megz finishes up her first (good) Halloween experience and the guys couldn't be happier. She liked it, guys! But she liked it so much we had to continue into a part 3. No Cochrans were injured in the making of this episode. Does Travis think he's convinced us he was watching for shadows in THAT scene? Are you, the audience, ready for Ode to the Blue Blouse? Is Dan safe around Megz after making her watch Halloween 5 first? What major bombshell is Dan going to drop in the last minute of...
