Interesting and engaging
I’m a big fan of history podcasts, such as Dan Carlin’s bi-annual tour de force. Tom and Dom’s podcast (an alternative title, perhaps?) is engaging, often captivating, and light hearted. Both being knowledgeable, excellent historians (I’m a big fan of both) certainly benefits. Thankfully, Dominic shows more nuance and balance in these podcasts like his history books, but not unlike his infrequent, contrived Daily Mail articles that play to the gallery (sorry Dominic). They are both growing into to the podcast and the interruptions that plagued the earlier episodes are now becoming much more natural and beneficial. Top work to you both!

No guests, no comedians, just great ideas explored in an engaging conversation. Simply brilliant.

How lovely to hear these two well known historians speak in general terms about big historical themes. I particularly enjoy the easy transference between ancient and modern events. The innovation of recommending books that allow a greater understanding of the periods discussed is welcome too.
