I think as healing as this was for you, you also helped so many of us. Thank you.

This is great story telling. It’s deeply introspective yet not indulgent. I’m so impressed.

This is one of the BEST podcasts I’ve ever listened to! So we’ll done. I loved the mix of trying to figure out the crime but also all the interpersonal, trauma revealing, humanness to it. I seriously binged this, could not stop listening. Well done 👍🏽 👏🏼👏🏼

Really well told story. Great job IO. But you’re inability to get past the story revolving around you detracted from the full picture and overall telling of it. Bummer it had to fall short.

not sure I can find the words to encapsulate how much I appreciated all of these episodes - the story, the movement through lives and how they were impacted by Billy’s life and death, but.. loved it. love iO. what a brave and beautiful and sad story.

So addicted to this - completely compelling IO thanks for making this

This is the most lovingly told podcast I’ve ever listened to. iO and his family’s vulnerability, especially Billy’s daughter, resonated so deeply. It demonstrates the healing power of raw storytelling.

A podcast masterpiece, a true genre gem! Reading iO’s book now as I can’t get enough of his story.

So New York City and juicy and raw and emotional. I feel like I'm walking around my neighborhood listening to this (sometimes I am.) One of the best podcats ever.Read full review »

A podcast that looks at how past events can affect a family. The podcast is raw and you feel a range of emotions throughout. The Mum comes across as narcissistic , however, you realise there is more to her character then that. She has been through a lot. You really feel for IO who is telling...Read full review »

Totally different from everything I’ve listened to. Engrossing people and story line. Can’t stop listening. Great work!

Great storytelling and a good listen, so would have given it an initial 4 stars. I’m not one to suddenly write negative reviews because I disagree with a host, but given this is all supposed to be the true story of iO, his mother, and his mother’s true love, it angers me to now find out iO is a...Read full review »

Unreal. Fascinating until he decides to stop questioning. And throws the man that gave him all of the content under the bus and makes it all about himself. Truly pathetic. Could have done this many other ways that would have been more respectful of others time invested and personal connection to...Read full review »

One of the best podcasts ever made. This is one of the very few podcasts that I can listen to over and over. I love everything about this podcast.

When I first listened to this podcast, I really enjoyed it. However, now knowing that Io is a liar, perjurer, protector of an abuser, who also objectified a teenager for their own purposes, my feelings have changed. As a result, the entirety of the pod lacks credibility, and I now think that this...Read full review »

So basically, the RFK tapes season is the story of the host exploiting an old family friend to use his collection of tapes (and thus have a show), and then allows one of said friends old rivals to take over the show and make said friend look like a fool (with an assist from the friend himself,...Read full review »

Thank you IO for opening up and taking us through both you and your Mom’s journey. This has brought me to a better understanding of my own childhood trauma. Also, thanks to Austin and the rest of the team.

Would’ve been if there was actually a story here. Unfortunately there wasn’t. Waste of time and feels like the joke’s on me for listening. At least Ron Kuby was interesting, albeit only to finally shut down this ridiculously misguided plight that never should’ve seen the light of day
Xinaeve via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/05/21
Really good story. Some good investigation and production. As a person who grew up in the 80’s in a dysfunctional family, the story appeals to me. In moments, the narrator is skilled and professional. In other moments, the narrator is self absorbed, immature and seems to be struggling with self...Read full review »

Great series! I was thinking: this needs to be a book, but actually so much of the power of this is the audio. Well done! Reading iO’s books rn. Great writer.
riribex via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/15/21
The story started off strong and then it became so self centered and too cool for school, the host has a huge ego and it’s apparent.

I’ve listened to approximately 1 million podcast and this is my second fav of all of them (#1 is Finding Cleo). This story begins as what appears to be a murder mystery. It broadens into something so much deeper; it’s a study on the impact of grief and mental illness on children, on surviving...Read full review »

The piece about Hart Island gave me chills; I loved everything about this story, except what happened to Billy. Epic love story!

Takes me back to a certain time in NYC, with great music and cliff hangers telling a very personal story. With Cheetah Chrome and Ron Kuby too. Now two years later, still haven’t heard a new pod that compares to this. It’s not the underlying story, this is art. Thank you
nixfinity via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/25/21
You think it’s about a murder. But it’s actually a painful love story. Wow! Love you Io!

I tell everyone and anyone about it. Nothing, absolutely nothing compares to this 😍.

This kid was absolutely on board with Bill’s theories, he infiltrated his life’s work, used him endlessly and then ADMITTEDLY changed his mind at the very last minute because he’s too much of a coward to risk that people will conflate actual research and witness testimony with QAnon conspiracies....Read full review »

I’ve listened to hundreds of podcasts and am not easily impressed, but must say this is the best one Ive listened to yet! It’s one of those podcasts that will make you late to work because you can’t turn it off. I highly recommend!

I used to be a punk in the late 70s in London and I started listening to Rebecca and Billy’s story as it resonated with me. And woah...what a ride! Not only am i addicted to the story and all the connecting threads, I found myself a little bit in love with iO by the end of it xx

It's a very strange decision to tack on Billy Balls as season 2 of RFK because they're essentially two completely different podcasts. Season 1 was interesting and well done, mainly due to the subject matter. Season 2 seemed rambling and fairly unrelatable, and I felt that the story was...Read full review »
