Listeners, it is with a heavy heart that I have to report the death of my wife, Abigail Houde. She was the voice of Waffles the Dog. I hope to find someone able to provide the general personality and humor of Waffles someday. I was able to edit this final 12-riddle podcast. I hope you enjoy it. I know that this is out of character and out of place for this announcement, but given the circumstances of how my wife passed, may I please recommend checking for any drug interactions for ailments or...

For Episode 4 we found some much more easygoing and fun riddles than from Episode 3’s Guess Me, a book with riddles so arcane you need to live in a certain 100-meter neighbourhood to catch all the historical, educational and societal references. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but in Episode 4 Waffles steps up the plate/dog dish and plays funnydog to our host The Riddles Kid for over a dozen great riddles. Do you have your own great riddle or two you’d like to share? You can send...

Oh my goodness! In this episode of The Riddles Podcast, Waffles the Dog and our host toss about several ridiculously obscure, locally tailored riddles from Guess Me, the 1879 riddles book we sampled in Episode Two. The last half takes an upturn with some rib-ticklers from the rest of the book. Many thanks to our listeners in the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Singapore and your country if you’re the first! “Or second. Third is nice too.” - Waffles If you like this podcast, please share it and...

Hello there! We’re putting the final touches on Episode 2. Have you ever heard of a numbered charade? You may have seen them around as a generic riddle. The riddle is made of one large word to guess along with smaller words that reuse the large word’s letters. For example, take the word STEAK. Its letters have numbers 1 through 5. 1 would be S, 2 would be T and so on. In addition to the actual riddle about steak, you might also get riddles about TEAK (for example, 2 3 4 5 is a rare wood)...
