Came for Tolkien, instead getting science nitpicks from Alan
Big Tolkien fan here. I was loving the pod at first, especially their dives into the underlying Tolkien lore and how the show builds off and incorporates the source material. Each of the hosts brings a really unique perspective. But in the last two episodes, they (and Alan especially) have wasted an unbelievable amount of time nitpicking (usually incorrectly) why certain things on the show are scientifically unlikely (e.g., elves carrying a heavy stone table, soldiers fitting on a boat, Galadriel surviving the pyroclastic flow). You guys! We aren’t chiming in to hear your thoughts on how “science” prevents elves from lifting a table! Give us the Tolkien meat and give it to us raw. Happy to re-visit this review in the future if the focus of the show shifts back to Tolkien! -Kevin M.
