“I had high hopes for this podcast. Disappointingly, it was very difficult to get through the Kardashian-esque musings of the “hardships” of the privileged lives this pair obviously lead. I can’t blame how out of touch they are with the average person because we can’t chose what we’re born into, however when they equate body image and acne to some mountainous challenges that have never been trekked and conquered before, and how genius and important their nutritious food delivery business is to the common man, the perceived value in what they’re discussing falls flat.
I have been a member of their program and they do have delicious and nutritious meals. However, their pricing structure illustrates my point for me: at $400/5 days for 3 small meals a day, this business is anything but society saving. If you’re part of the 1% who can afford this program (or a “celebrity client” as they like to boast in the first 60 seconds) then you will reap the benefits of the plant-based Sakara lifestyle. Sorry poor people, eating well isn’t for you.
The idea of this program is a good one. This is an opportunity to reach and include those who cannot afford spending their rent on pretentious meal delivery and include them in the conversation. If these women can stop adoring themselves for a second and treat this podcast and their mission like CEOs who want the world to benefit from their “discoveries”, they should rethink their content or better yet, leave it to their guest speakers who have actual value to impart.”
