Excellent episode! I especially enjoyed it because I grew up in the area and have visited the South Gate entrance to Sequoia. I also climbed Alta Peak, which is the second highest beak in California. I think the peak is 12K feet above sea level.

Great Listen. I love the historical and book excerpts. Give me a little more of the paranormal book discussion.. Thanks for all your work.

Top Shelf content TOP SHELF ASMR. I live falling asleep to this podcast ( and catching up on the next night) This guy know his stuff, have lovely humor and very good editing. Really love the show- great mix of history and paranormal. My wife thinks he has a hot daddy thing going on, but I’m partial to the Saucer Wife lol Be sure to check the Patreon as well!

Love the topics, thorough research, and neutral telling. However I cannot listen to the episodes with the Saucer Wife. She does not seem to want to be there and the tension is really uncomfortable. I get that it’s important to have different perspectives, but stop having her on if she thinks it’s...Read full review »

A much-needed historical survey of UFO lore that resonates with today’s UAP riffs and rifts in surprising and rich ways. First person and newspapers accounts from the pre and early internet age remind us that the weirdness and long-standing conflicts (challenging consensus reality, religion &...Read full review »

No matter how you feel about the UFO phenomenon, this is a solid review of major (and minor) figures, their stories, the cultural tradition, and the crazy context in which these incidents occurred. True? False? Who cares! Just enjoy the bizarreness!

As someone that is extremely interested in ufos but is frequently annoyed by most of, if not all of the biggest influencers in the field. is never 100% convinced by any of the theories or explanations advanced by the aforementioned, this show is excellent! The Saucer Life is great refresher course in UFO history presented in a fun , not snarky ( as he states-in his intro)heavy handed way. Mr. Gulyas gives us a peek behind the curtain of the Contactee movement, past UFO reports, and the personalities of that gone era. . Ps just listened to the...Read full review »

Aaron specialises in digging into the more obscure archives of ufology, particularly for the contactee movement. Plus if you dig into the archives you can also find some great stuff about ‘Alternative 3.’ Go listen!

This is a great podcast as long as you don’t take the subject too seriously. The host is a great researcher and is definitely funny. When he wanders over to adjacent topics in forteana, the dismissive starts to overwhelm the research quality but that is a minor quibble. Also, the guy will have...Read full review »

Only early UFO contactee case I remembered was George Adamski but there was so much more going on back then and the decades following. Good stuff

This podcast is informative and actually just fun to listen to! Interesting stories from the highly strange world of UFOs and 40’s and 50’s Saucer lore.

A fascinating podcast focusing on ufo history and culture that goes far beyond the same old ufo material and events. It is a very refreshing, entertaining and non-judgmental take on the subject. I learn a lot from The Saucer Life. Thank you!

The best lectures I never had at university! Aaron’s attitude and presentation makes the specific areas he’s studying seem like acts in an absurdist play, in some cases deservedly so.

Great historical overviews about the UFO real-world lore. A fantastic contextual reference for anyone that is more interested in the societal of the weird phenomenon so many experience as truth. Or claim thereof ;)

This is a 5 star podcast that is ruined by a silly gimmick. Please. Please. Stop using the transistor radio filter when reading quotations. It’s an annoying and jarring effect that removes all bass from your voice and makes the quotes difficult to listen to. Your material is well-researched and...Read full review »

Like it says - really highly recommended. Can’t believe I came to this party so late. This show has an incredible depth of knowledge on all aspects of UFO culture, mostly treating it as a kind of 20th century folklore though without being mean or cynical about the personalities involved. I just discovered this show this week, and am already burning my way through the archives. I love this podcast so much. Aaron Gulyas does a fantastic job putting each show together. It's always a pleasant surprise as to what area of UFO history Aaron will cover next. This is a hilarious but thought-provoking podcast.
