Looking forward to this new podcast from PJ and Alex!
I am a long time listener of Reply All. As a fellow Scaredy Cat who SO relates to PJ in this new series, I actually really enjoyed the nuanced discussion of what PJ was responding to (his anticipatory fear of being scared by the movie itself?) and of the first movie. This is only the first episode, and I hope I’ll be able to keep listening and not get too scared myself, but I found myself actually being curious about watching the movie by the end of the episode. The PJ/ Alex dynamic always delights, and I sort of appreciated this format giving them a chance to flip roles a little. Because so often Alex is sort of on the critical end of PJs jokes. (Less so in newer reply all seasons, though.) I like hearing these slightly different sides of both of these lovely humans. Also, I gotta say, I kinda love the addition of Mantzoukas in this mix. Overall, I laughed a lot, did not get scared listening to the discussion, really felt for PJ, and came away thinking about possibly watching the exorcist for the first time because it genuinely sounds like a good movie! I’d say that’s a win! Hang in there, PJ. And you don’t have to watch anything you don’t want to!

I’ve always really liked Reply All and this podcast is just another fantastic setting for PJ and Alex to expand into. The commentary is interesting, engaging and thought provoking, and I like how they brought in a guest for an outside perspective. Things are really weird and strange right now...Read full review »

I don’t think I’m quite as much of a scaredy cat as Pj, but I have felt left out by being too nervous to see get out and midsommar etc. Exorcist was 1/10 for me. Not scary, just really gross. 😅
