Nice to hear from lads who wrote fluently and think cogently about the game. The best football podcast hands down
Canta - Remember the name via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/04/22
This podcast is the sound of people who come across as if they don’t really like football... everything in the game is a problem. EVERYTHING. Seemingly, every facet of the game (particularly the English clubs) come in for the sort of bored, mocking you’d expect of people who sound as if this is...Read full review »

By turns insightful and funny. I always get a bump when another episode drops into my feed. Their intermission pieces are hidden gems. Watch one episode and you’ll be asking where you can deposit the subscription fee.

...and loved every parsnippy minute of it. Thanks David & Second Captains!

After 4 years of membership I cancelled my subscription after getting a belly full of political pontification from Ken. The man is very entertaining on many things with a splendid turn of phrase, but I don’t want to be preached at. Eoin is a consummate host and Ciaran , with his big brain,...Read full review »

Ageing like a great claret, these guys are the real deal - finely judged mixture of sports, issues and increasingly culture and current events. Have been impressed how they took even the sports void of coronavirus in their stride. 5 euro a month remains the best value the internet offers.

The isolating podcasts are nonsense. Standard podcasts have suffered more than most due to the lack of action. Trying to fill time by spending half the show reading out correspondence with listeners isn’t the best idea.

David O’ Doherty’s podcast is the best thing about the pandemic

The hare anecdote in DOD’s isolation episode 2 had me crying tears of laughter. Turning out to be a great lockdown buddy - thank you

A great dynamic and huge range of sporting knowledge between them. Excellent.

Really enjoy David O’Doherty’s monologues, find them very calming and bloody funny. He sounds like a really good guy. The only downside of the podcast is the unnecessary audio postproduction - the additional sound fx and jingles are a massive distraction and really cheapen the integrity of the...Read full review »

Andy Dunne gives the best insight and was 100% accurate with his thoughts on Irish rugby before the World Cup! Why isn’t he on more?!?! Brilliant podcast as always. Difficult to hear sometimes if on public transport. Can you increase volume of microphones?

...going from strength to strength like the club! One ask for the new season -please don’t talk about twitter comments as they don’t represent the broader, more balanced fan base views and so no need to give them air time

Meh
A glorified Liverpool fan podcast. These guys were good 10 years ago. Take a shot every time mcdevitt mentions the paywall. And the way they drool over Early. Oh he reads quotes in a funny voice-hilarious.... Its just all a bit too smug.

The 6 best hours of my week are listening to this podcast - as an Irish person and a new immigrant I cannot thank these guys enough for the entertainment, education and pure joy they bring to me everyday 🥰

These guys produce the best content. I enjoy listening to Ken and their coverage of the WC 2018 was extraordinary. Also their remix is wonderful.

Just listened to the Second Captains with Gary Neville.....one of THE best interviews I have ever heard. Honest, open, great banter and whisper it quietly from an Arsenal fan, I really do like Neville. When Maslow created his hierarchy of needs, he was struggling to conclude what to put at the top of the pyramid. Then he listened to this podcast. Forget self-actualisation, he thought, Second-Captualisation was a human’s greatest necessity.
