A must for all new screenwriters and filmmakers.
I’ve been listening to Ashley Scott Meyers for over a year now and I’ve found his interviews to be fantastic. He asks really nuts and bolts questions that most other podcasts and books just gloss over. "How did you find the producer who bought your script?" "Did you write a query, meet him at seminar, know him personally?" "How did you raise money?”, "how much money did you raise,” “What was your pitch like?”, “How did you make the deal with Netflix?”, “What did that look like?,”. “Talk me through the process of getting it in front of this producer or attaching this actor”. Etc etc. The thing that’s refreshing is he’s not usually talking to studio level people that are imbedded in the business; he’s talking to people who’ve made independent films and are accessible to all writers—not just ones that have manager or agent. His interviewees are very candid about what worked and didn’t work when it came to getting their script sold or made. If you want to sell a screenplay, I highly recommend you listen so some of these interviews and learn from people that have actually succeeded in getting there films produced.Read full review »

Ashley is humble and thorough with his questions... This is a MUST for anyone wanting to work...Read full review »

Ashley does a great job outlining all the ways in which aspiring screenwriters can get their material noticed or to improve their material. He also gets a lot of great guests on the show to talk about their own experiences in the industry as well. Highly recommend.
