Weekly treasure!
J'adore the Simple Sophisticate - it's my treat every Monday morning when I go for my power walk. I appreciate Shannon's choices of topic, her lovely voice, her intelligently organized delivery, and her understanding of what actual women want to know about how to live a simply stylish life. I would love to hear more about "simplicity" as theory and method - it would be good to hear more of Shannon's take on how to maintain an ethically and sutainabily stylish life while living simply and lightly in a complexifying world with threatened environmental and social resources. And then, on the more frivolous side, I would like to her her take on how to deal with the problem of shockingly decreasing clothing quality from retailers -- from shirts and blouses that are sheer and shoddily made (where can I find a non-sheer white shirt anymore?) to bad dye in jeans, etc. Are there any good brands left? How can one look for good tailoring and well-made clothes -- what can we do before we buy to make sure we're getting a well -made item so that we're not junking it next year and buying a new one (totaly unsustainable). Also, on the topic of Shannon's French pronunciation - sure, it's not good, but I find it charming and it's now a part of her signature style. It makes me smile every time, and I appreciate her being sincere, highly intelligent, but not perfect. Shannon, don't worry about it, say it how you want. Love the podcast!!Read full review »

I admit that I am a Francofile and that's why I initially subscribed. But this podccast is nothing new and certainly not...Read full review »
