This podcast really is the daddy of the CTFDN family, showcasing both new and established voice talents and authors. The production and sound quality are excellent, and the stories are a cornucopia of creepypasta, with something for everyone. ( well, as long as you are a horror aficionado!) Keep...Read full review »

Episode 109 (second story) is a great story. Nick Geroff is a fab narrator. Really enjoy listening to this podcast. Recently listened to episode 52 the ‘black croft story’ and Christopher Keegan is brilliant. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

Like others have previously mentioned, love the stories, voice acting, and effects, but when there are times I want to dive in and get a quick dose it’s always halted by the ads altogether… I understand why they’re necessary but the placement can be irritating. I just wish there were ways around...Read full review »

The stories are amazing; however out of all the podcasts I’m subscribed to…this one has the most, and longest, ads. Otherwise, the 40% of the podcast that is actual stories is amazing.
Tabbiecatzzz via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/12/21
I don’t mind advertising because everything has a cost but it’s gotten ridiculous. Nearly 10 minutes just at the beginning before the story. Then multiple times during. If the episodes were longer I’d be less irritated. Most of the stories and narration are decent. Some are excellent. The...Read full review »

Ads
Stories are great, voice acting is ok, but Jesus Christ the ads are god awful and the placement is just awful. In the middle of a story? Is this your first podcast? Instant turn off. Won’t be listening anymore.
Filthykraken via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/04/21
The stories are enjoyable for the most part but my biggest problem (in addition to the quantity) is the volume difference of the ads. You’re relaxing, in the story, drifting off and then an INSANELY LOUD ad makes sure you won’t sleep
McFlyMcKee via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/03/21
Full recommend to anyone who love creepy well read stories. Voice acting is very well done and really gets you into the story.

I understand that horror contains a lot of potentially triggering elements, but it really isn’t hard to include a trigger warning in the episode descriptions. I wasted 12 minutes listening to ads just to get to a story that, less than a minute in, goes into animal cruelty. Please consider adding...Read full review »

So I’ve been listening to not only this series but all the others like Otis Jiry and Jason Hill, almost since the beginning. This channel is the best, I find myself wishing there were more frequent drops. I listen every day at work and you guys get me through my darkest days. Episode 100, 37:32...Read full review »

Ads
The stories are a lot of fun, but it’s really hard to find them between five minutes of intro, multiple jarring interstitial ads, and ten minutes of plugs and outro. I would be much more likely to just sit and listen to the intro and outro if they were more concise. Currently, I get a minute in...Read full review »

Been a fan of short story format in horror podcasts for a few years now. This is by far the best. Three eps in and haven’t drifted yet. Very engaging high production values, and excellent narration. Intro by a guy who’s got to be the audio equivalent of The Crypt Keeper. Marvellous.

I love this podcast. When I’m having a bad day or can’t sleep at night I binge this.

These stories are pretty good 😊 but the ads are kinda annoying but other than that the stories are intense and pretty good. If you could fix those ads I would say this would be one of the best scary podcast I’ve listen to so far

Ads
I get ads are how you guys make money but the first time I go to check out this podcast it starts with an ad then the host sets up for the story and I’m getting ready for it to start then there’s another 10 minutes of ads.. 15 minutes in and all I’ve listened to is one big ad break. The stories are good and so is the audio and all that, so my only problem is the ads. I know they have to make money, and the shows are 1.5 hours long, but 12 minutes of ads in the beginning seems a bit excessive
TerrifyingTurds via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/21/21
The content gets lost in all the ads. I can’t enjoy tiny bits of story between multiple loud, obnoxious ads. Sorry.

I listened to my first episode just now and everything was great!.. except for the intro. I enjoy the stories. The problem with this podcast is the volume of ads. I understand the need for ads but these episodes have more/longer ads than anything I’ve ever listened to. Not to mention they place an 8 min long ad break right in the middle of a story. Not sure I’m gonna continue listening.

This is by far my favorite podcast that I listen too, I love that they have returning narrators that I love, and bring in new voices sometimes that are fresh. The stories are always different and unique, and are interesting. Best podcast out there.
G_craddick via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/15/21
The stories are amazing and spine-chilling and I love them but there are too many adds that I need to skip just to get to a story. Please look into that otherwise, it’s fantastic.

The male voice actor whose voice is deep and like has a country ish accent? I’m sorry I don’t know his name but he is the first voice actor in episode 88. Fear the Future It’s too slow too deep and somehow monotoneish. I don’t want to talk ish it’s just not for me.

Truly a great podcast. I discovered it by accident looking for other horror podcasts. It’s been hard to listen to. The voice acting is mediocre and some of the voices are just painful to listen to. It’s campy in the bad way. It’s no surprise that I give this podcast an easy 5 stars. The amount of talent CTFDN has far outweighs ANY other type of “radio dramas”. I came across the channel last year on YouTube. I had an enforced 2 week stay somewhere and so turned to YouTube as a distraction. ... now there are ads smack in the middle of a story. I get the need to monetize your life’s work but hitting sitcom commercial breaks kills all creepy scary vibes. Before or after the show was cool. Even in between stories was cool. But the content is degraded with this new ad debacle.

I listen to these stories a few times a week but when I try and read the descriptions of the stories I have no idea what they are going to be about...’spooky tales to fuel your nightmares’ ‘murderous mystery’s to keep you up at night’ and so on. I had really high hopes for this podcast. It was a recommendation from The No Sleep podcast which I LOVE! The stories I’ve listened to are good but the ads take me right out of the creepy tone of the story which, is unfortunate. This is a serious let down. And I’ll be deleting it from my library.

Just started this pod on the recommendation of Otis Jiry, like it ever better than Otis’ own scary stories podcast (sorry). Narrator diversity makes a big difference in the horror genre. Can’t stop bingeing the back catalogue, keep up the great work.
