“Guys I know this will annoy you. I’m not a subscriber, and therefore and I know and appreciate the attitude you have towards non-subscribers is ‘that’s fine, but listen to the adds and don’t complain”. I agree with the credo, and that’s what I do. The truth is, I enjoy listening to your podcast, but I’m a casual listener. You’re great but you’re not my favourite, I miss an episode here and there, and sometimes I’m not in the mood. For this reason I think subscribing isn’t for me and I’m happy to listen to the ads! And I’m grateful that that’s an option for me. I don’t skip the ads because I know that has an impact, and the least I can do is let them run. However, the first couple of minutes of this most resent ep were ads, followed by your own ad to entice subscribers, fair enough, and then when the episode started, another appeal from Mike for me to donate to Kelly’s sister running a half marathon? Really? Who the flip is Kelly’s sister? I want to be supportive but I’m 7 minutes in and it’s just been consistent asking for cash. For 7 minutes! Honestly, this podcast is fun, but it’s not in my top 5. I can’t afford to subscribe to loads of different podcasts, and I’m not gonna listen to 7 minutes of ads before kick-off! Should I skip the ads or stop listening to the pod?”
