Description
Today’s topic is one that will hit home with some very hard truths. I am so grateful for everyone who chose to take part in this panel discussion. Now despite religion in its current state having been hijacked, there is an emerging movement towards inclusivity. We unpack the taboo of sex and sexual pleasure in the backdrop of conservatism and religion. Let’s meet the panellists: Tiffany Kagure Mugo is the intoxicatingly scary gatekeeper of HOLAAfrica, a Pan African queer womanist digital community dealing with sex and sexuality. She is a Ted speaker. podcast host and bad ass Board Member of FRIDA Fund as well as author of the book Quirky Quick Guide To Having Great Sex. David Ochara is a co-founder and lead pastor at the Cosmopolitan Affirming Community (CAC)- an LGBTIQ affirming religious fellowship in Kenya. Pastor David has a background in science with present interest in research and the intersections of gender, sexuality, and religion in contemporary African society. Kora Award winner Silayio is a performing and recording Kenyan artist, who has been working in and out of the country for the last 14 years. Silayio recently re-introduced herself to the scene with a stint on ‘The Voice Of Holland’ where she finished 7th out of 110 contestants. Muthoni mantra is: MY MISSION IS TO SUPPORT MY CLIENTS BREAK FREE ROM LIMITING BELIEFS, PATTERNS & BEHAVIORS SO THAT THEY CAN LIVE A LIFE FILLED WITH JOY, FUN, PLEASURE & CONTENTMENT. And lastly our Moderator for this Panel is the ever so lovely Sunshine: A Nairobi-based radical writer dedicated to imagining freedom and universal access to systems of care for all. Her insightful dissections of pop-culture and it’s intersection with cultural traditions that inform our daily lives serve as a reminder that unlearning, much like the struggle for freedom, is an ongoing journey. ---------- A L L C O N T E N T https://linktr.ee/karenkazlucas --------- P R O D U C E D B Y Karen kaz Lucas --------- B U S I N E S S I N Q U I R I E S For business inquiries, Email - [email protected] [email protected] ---------- F I N D U S Instagram -https://www.instagram.com/thespreadpod/ https://www.instagram.com/karenkazlucas/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thespreadpod/ https://www.facebook.com/karenkazlucas/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/thespreadpod https://twitter.com/Karenkazlucas ---------- O U R G U E S T S: Sunshine - Tiff - @kagsmugo Muthoni @SAKINAHWELLNESS Silayio - @silayio_silayio Dave - @cac_ke ---------- P O D C A S T O F T H E W E E K: POSITIVELY AFRICAN - https://anchor.fm/positively-african/episodes/Full-Episode-1-The-Devil-is-in-the-Detail-ekd33r They create content and curate events that celebrate African stories and heritage.
