Professor Avi Shlaim spoke to Eamon last October following the 7th October attack by Hamas on Israel. Professor Shlaim is an author and Oxford historian of modern Middle East history. He is Emeritus Professor of International Relations at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of the British Academy.
