Before even that comes to pass, you're greeted by the happy banter of two friends: a Moose and a Unicorn. Gary, the befuddled Farley to Orlando's Spade create a fake ad about a smart speaker, which — in my opinion — no one should own because I don't want anyone listening to my thoughts and stealing them. But as a spoof? Brilliant. I'll have my toast dry, Gary. Like I like my humour.
The opening sign is turned on, and a young child — with their beautiful naiveté — asks for a story about two simple things. A rainbow. A snowflake. A squiggle. A square. It doesn't matter. Every story is possible at The Story Store, which I love.
Then as if by magic — but no doubt hard work — the writing and production team at CBC Kids puts together masterful narratives that keep the attention of kids and adults (hi) alike.
