“I’ve been a listener for six years now and I love this show more with each passing year.
It perfectly balances day to day match and player analysis with longer term structural criticism of the sport. It has great insider access to key people within the game, but retains an independence to raise and discuss the thornier issues. It’s relentless pursuit of equality between the men’s and women’s tours is important advocacy that has challenged my own views and assumptions and made me confront some unconscious bias of my own. In fact, I can’t think of any other coverage that gives men’s and women’s tennis truly equal billing and it’s been responsible for massively expanding my knowledge and enjoyment of the women’s game.
But at heart, it’s a real cheerleader for the sport. They’ve tracked the progress of emerging talent like Alcaraz, Sinner, Gough and Andreeva for years before they broke through. They’ve charted the golden era of the men’s game and signed off Serena and Federer perfectly. The enthusiasm and passion for the game is infectious.
Simply great”
