In this episode, we hear from thru-hiker founder, and soon to be triple-crowner, Cheer, as she continues her 2023 thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail! Week 5 on the Appalachian Trail brought Cheer her first 'marathon day' (26+ mile day) while hiking from Hampton North Carolina, through Tennessee and into Damascus, Virginia to celebrate her birthday and the Appalachian Trail Days, the largest AT specific celebration in the world! While in town she stayed at Lady Di's Hostel, had brunch with fellow trail team member, 'Shooter' and enjoyed the wonderful food, music and entertainment of the Trail Days festival including a chili cook-off and hiker parade.
