The reason why I like it is when they explain, they explain it in detail.

Hands down the best. Jimbo is a master of his craft , finely honed over decades of top rate journalism. The rest of the crew are equally at the top of their respective games, bringing insight and entertainment. You always get the impression they know what they are talking about ( it is possible...Read full review »

My moment of the week every week is Rafa’s 15.

You know, I have been a listener for quite a few years now, but today’s episode was the last for me. The amount of absolutely hatred for Manchester United consistently voiced by Richardson, Daniel Storey, and others is laughable. I listen to many sports podcasts and I understand that the pundits...Read full review »

I consistently listen to and enjoy most episodes of the show each week and would recommend the same to any other football fan. I was thinking about writing a review but unsure exactly what I wanted to say. I see some of the other reviews are very negative and find that surprising and some even...Read full review »

The perfect football podcast. James Richardson’s distant, wry form of presenting sluiced with electric wit is the foundation for Monday and Thursday’s carousel of journalists. Duncan Alexander, Daniel Storey and Adrian Clarke recur the most repeatedly, all are intelligent, funny and entertaining....Read full review »

This is generally a very good podcast, brilliantly presented by James Richardson. The show would benefit from less of the smug Daniel Storey and also the clueless American on this weeks show giving opinions on situations he clearly has no understanding of.

Just too smug. Just too pleased with itself. The way they have embraced gambling has also been deeply embarrassing. When the fun stops. Stop.

Have listened for years and don’t miss an ep, occasionally flirt with other podcasts but that’s about as far as they go. Brilliant analysis from all those involved. Been a James Richardson fan since the Channel 4 days where my love for Italian calcio began. Would love to hear more Totally...Read full review »

Decent pod. As a suscribir to a number of soccer/football pods-yes I am an American- it’s unusual to me that you don’t have photos up on the Apple pod feed. Is this a security concern? Perhaps y’all are too shy? Or unfortunately y’all are too embarrassed by your appearances to have them posted? I...Read full review »

By far the best football podcast and my personal favourite is the European edition and its restaurant recommendation. On a serious note great pundits and makes the Tuesday commute enjoyable

Disinterested presenter, very ordinary analysis. Poor for The Athletic.

The best football podcast

One of the best podcasts, and probably one of the best football podcasts. Love the banter and the food talk…and we’re not even at the football yet.
davidmeggers via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/04/24
The European episodes are especially good. I like the people on the European episodes and there is a good depth of knowledge. Generally, people on this show say things in an interesting and clear way.

A well-produced Spurs-leaning podcast that covers most of the other teams.

If you don’t have a Barry then you really have to ask yourself what are you doing. Jimbo lost his work friend and hasn’t been able to recover as far as I am concerned.

Good banter, good knowledge but please for the life of me please stop booking Natalie and Lynsey ……. Natalie brings absolutely nothing to the show. She struggles to express herself in English and if she’s not talking about Brazilian domestic players she’s useless. She also struggles so badly to...Read full review »

Tonight’s episode - 10 mins on Wales winning a huge game in the Euros qualifiers, 5 mins on Scotland actually qualifying (half of which was bizarrely spent talking about the Sweet Caroline song), and then 30 mins previewing the England game the next day. If you love English football and have...Read full review »

I want to see James Richardson hosting Match of the Day at some point. Broadcasting genius is not an understatement in my opinion.

This used to be such a great show, relatively balanced with great tactical insights from the panel and delivered with a large slice of humour. However, more recently, it is turning into an Arsenal show with little mention of other teams, even missing out some matches entirely. A great shame for...Read full review »

surpasses its predecessor with a dynamic blend of humor and in-depth analysis, making it a podcasting triumph that sets a new standard in the genre. It's proof that, occasionally, sequels can indeed be better than the first film.Read full review »

Clear as day Mr Storey has an issue with Liverpool proof if needed the VVD sending off comments “mercifully they won so we won’t have to hear about it all week” and “ban him for 1/2 more games” because he disagreed with the decision, meanwhile his beloved Notts Forest are lodging an official...Read full review »

I listen to many football podcasts, but James Richardson and the gang always make the best informed, most entertaining and enjoyable podcast.

Insightful, witty and, in James Richardson, the best host in the business. Love the European edition too.

James Richardson is the best podcast host by a stretch. Loved the Goalazzzo pod series as well the regular & European shows.

James Richardson is a tough listen. Great idea for a show with a not so great host.

Would you pay actual money not to hear Daniel Storey drone on in utterly banal, self-serious tones? What if you, too, have already realized The Athletic is a glorified fanzine and not actual journalism? Do you live in a country where ALL games are shown, so listening to UK-based pundits faking...Read full review »

Still the best football podcast available, and the “European Edition” is every bit as brilliant. These guys are funny, insightful and charming, and I don’t know what I’d do without my weekly dose of Alvaro Romeo.

LiveScore bet podcast occasionally talking about football. Good content overall but seriously never heard so many betting ads. Please no more Carl Anka. So unbelievably smug and self satisfied. Storey Laurens horncastle honigstein davies Adams really great to listen to

It’s a fantastic podcast, with some of the sharpest opinions out there - I’ve been listening for years but finally the betting ads have become too much for me and I’m tapping out. For me, it’s shifted from the betting plugs being mildly annoying and cringey to something more uncomfortable, with...Read full review »

I wish they talked more about Crystal Palace, but that might be exactly what a Palace fan deals with in the world. Maybe a function of a consistently lower mid table team!!

James is a superb host and the mix of guests and opinions makes it my go to podcast.

Used to religiously listen to the show until they started bringing on the laziest of the lot, to the likes of Tim Spiers, who openly admits to not watching football matches but providing his full weight (it’s a lot) and 20 cents on the world’s best football stars. It’s an objectively poor time...Read full review »

The show itself is fairly good, but some of the English journalists they have speaking talk as if they are recording for asmr. Very hushed tones and near whispers. I find it hard to continue listening to the points they make due to this and often turn it off early. Please speak up a bit.
