In this episode I sit down with Mequell Buck, she is an author, speaker, suicide survivor, and hosts a Podcast with her husband Adam. The podcast is called Thriving with Mental Illness. Mequell shares her story of dealing her mental illness (bipolar II diagnosis). We talk about the process for her to get healthy, what was helpful and not helpful for her. She opens up about her suicide attempt and what that meant to her. Mequell shares how her life is better because of this (mental illness) and how it forced her to trim the unimportant things out of her life. She discusses the importance of redefining our view of successes in life and mental health. She gives some great advice to those struggling with mental illness as well as their spouses.
