We're going on a holiday to Vietnam in 6 months, so I wanted to find out more about it. We went for the first time in 1995, just after the US lifted its trade embargo, so I know that the country has changed massively in the meantime. I stumbled on the Vietnamese Boat People podcast and have...Read full review »

This podcast is a must listen whether you are a VBP or not. Tracey has masterfully curated stories from real people that will bring tears and joy to your heart. Let us pay tribute to those who lost their lives in attempting to escape and stand firm against wars. Let there be peace.

It’s one thing to read about something in a history book. It’s another to document numerous first had accounts. Such an important podcast for preserving these stories.

Tears are rolling down my eyes as I’m listening to these stories. I was privileged to be raised in America. I went through years of loneliness not understanding why my parents were they way they were. But this podcast helped me visualize my parent’s history, and set my burden free. Thank you.

I’m so happy that this platform exists to make these stories so easily accessible. It’s essential we document this history in first person and never forget. All people - all ages and walks of life, can learn and grow from this podcast.

As someone who was a boat person myself at the age of 2, I have related to so much of what this podcast talks about but I think that even for someone who isn't Vietnamese, the stories told here are fascinating. I listen to a lot of podcasts and this is easily in my top 5.Read full review »

First episode reeled me in good. The way the father describes the escape from Đà Nẵng makes me feel like I was there. I came to the states when I was 1 and I grew up surrounded by other Vietnamese people. My heart for my homeland and my people shakes listening to these episodes

Oh my goodness! I’ve been wanting to find a Viet-Ameri podcast for a long time! It’s a perfect blend of the 1st Gen & 2nd Gen. This is such an iconic piece & will be documented for the future 3rd Gen and so on.

My mom escaped Vietnam in the 70’s when she was 8 with her dad and three brothers. I’ve always heard bits and pieces of stories, but lately have been wanting to learn more. Listening to these stories is teaching me so much. Thank you!

I recognized myself in your prelude. I never heard much about my parents boat people stories. Too difficult for them to share it with their children. Now, I have also this feeling that it’s the good time to talk about it, to reveal what is underneath. Thank you for this podcast. Right on time !

So glad that VBP has finally launched to share the untold stories of the Vietnamese refugees that now reside in North America and all over the world. These are stories you don’t want to miss hearing.
