Good intergenerational discussion
The biggest takeaway I had here was not about the topic of discussion but the needs of Indian American children to experience emotional support and emotional intelligence from their Indian parents. The children have expectations based on their American upbringing and the parents may not have had similar training or experiences in India. It’s good that you, parents, are opening up this dialogue with your children to close this gap. Never too late to do so.
