Great Insights, insensitive Host
I generally enjoyed these podcasts. I believe TCI has not achieved a greater success due to cohost and producer Roberta, who although brilliant in her examinations and insights, has difficulty with vulgarity and political biases. As a fellow feminist, I am often disappointed in Roberta’s transparent bias and her intolerance. She is quick to disparage her cohost due to a sensitivity in regards to anything in a feminist spotlight. She “fe-malesplains” to her cohost at times, not allowing him to fully express his thoughts, as she rides her indignation horse, beating him down. This is evident in many of the early podcasts: it appeared to improve , mid season two, but is apparent in the episode I was listening to this evening (season 4, the Suitcase, part 2). I find her arrogance and maltreatment of her cohost abhorrent when it occurs- having reached the point today of having to find another medium to explore this show. I believe the podcast would attract advertisers if Dan Jasper ran the podcast with quest cohosts. He has the insight that Roberta possesses but is more appropriate and thoughtful in his delivery.

It’s difficult at times to listen to Roberta who has a habit of stopping mid-sentence, stuttering, starting another thought, and doing this multiple times every time she wants to say something. It seems like she hasn’t fully formulated what she wants to say before she begins talking. Constantly...Read full review »

At first, I was watching the episodes just to get a chance to listen to the conversations on this wonderful podcast. Then I just listened to the podcast without even bothering with the episodes! Like two good friends in your ear, Roberta and Dan are welcome to discuss any show, and in fact, have...Read full review »
