Oh dear
This podcast has so much potential and it’s interesting to hear the details of crimes that have been headlines on the news, but .......... it’s often a struggle to listen to. The narrator has a dull voice which, from previous reviews, has clearly put a lot of people off listening. I don’t mind the monotonous voice and odd diction too much, although it is irritating, but I do find myself put off by sloppy attention to detail and constant mispronunciation. In the most recent episode Herriot Watt University is referred to as Harriet Watt, and in a previous episode the suspect’s name suddenly became Christopher and then back again. There’s an example of this sloppiness in nearly every single episode. When I’m listening to this podcast I feel like I do when I’m listening to my 7 year old granddaughter doing her reading homework - I want to interrupt and say ‘shall we go back and read that page again and try to do it a bit better this time?’

This would be so good if the narrator was changed. The pauses and mispronunciation are making this very difficult to listen to. Plus the guy emphasises the wrong syllables in words. It's giving me a twitch. Content is well revised, however.Read full review »

Why on earth has the narrator been allowed to speak like this? Who chose him?? He can't say a full sentence and would make an alien invasion seem tedious. Terrible.Read full review »
