Usually brilliant but prone to the occasional mis-step
Oh dear, it would be this week that I decide to post a review. The current episode—White Power in the US—was a bit of a train wreck and saved only by the polite forbearance of interviewee Kathleen Belew. By linking the entirely irrelevant Waco Siege to her work Laurie had either not read her research or, worse still, decided to ignore it in order to plug a BBC podcast about Waco. Prof. Belew gently corrected him but he appeared to double-down on the error. I’ve followed this show since its very beginnings and considered it one of the gems of Radio Four’s crown. I never thought of him as a curmudgeon until this episode, but I do now. Such a shame.

Wow
Really interesting and thought provoking. I enjoy every episode. The guy tends to breathe into the microphone a bit, though. :) Should be longer though, to give the guests more time to talk about the topic.

A must listen for anyone NOT tuned in to the Guardianista vibe. The odd economy related stuff can be hilarious. Also some real eye openers on where your research tax gold disappears.
