“The first two episodes peel back the layers in a way that bring something like The Things They Carried to a different horrible light, while also capturing how profound the loss is and how overcoming it is as difficult if not more so, than enduring it during the war. Some moments felt alarmingly like being shown how the mind world when the number of people that can be trusted shrink to those who know what it is to walk in a single file line cautious of death. It’s well done and one hopes it felt like good work to everyone involved.”
